Italian superbike manufacturer Bimota has unveiled a special edition of the BB3 TTrofeo superbike in the UK. The BB3 TTrofeo is a replica of the Isle of Mann TT race bike and will be produced in a limited run of just 60 units.
Like the standard motorcycle, the Bimota BB3 TTrofeo is powered by the BMW S1000RR’s 999cc four-cylinder engine, which is rated at 190 horsepower. However, the BB3’s resemblance to the German superbike ends here. It is built around the steel trellis frame mated to alloy plates while aesthetically it looks similar to Bimota’s Ducati-powered DB series. Suspension duties are performed by Ohlins units while the braking hardware has been supplied by Brembo.
Earlier this year, Bimota announced its intentions of participating in the 2015 Isle of Mann. The BB3 TTrofeo will sport the same red-green livery which will be used in these road racing BB3 machines, which will be ridden by Ben Wylie and Brandon Cretu. As the prices for even the standard Bimota BB3 start at a whopping USD 50,000 (Rs 31.26 lakh), we expect the BB3 TTrofeo to sport an astronomically high price tag.
