BMW C 400 GT India launch: What to expect?

BMW Motorrad India will soon update its product portfolio with the launch of the new C 400 GT maxi-scooter. The company has confirmed the India launch of the vehicle via its social media channels, although it is yet to reveal the arrival date. While we await more details, here we tell you what to expect from the India-bound BMW C 400 GT.

Engine

The Euro5-compliant (equivalent of BS6-standards) single-cylinder engine on the C 400 GT produces 33.5bhp of maximum power at 7,500rpm and 35Nm of peak torque at 5,750rpm. The motor is linked to a CVT-gearbox. The scooter uses electronic throttle grip, electrically operated throttle valve, and a new engine management system. The maximum speed of the scooter is rated at 139kmph.

Design

The maxi-scooter features a sharp and muscular design. The styling cues include an apron-mounted headlight, a windscreen, split-style footboard, step-up saddle with GT tag, and sporty pillion grab-rails. The apron-integrated front turn indicators give a clean look to the scooter.

Head Light

Colours

Internationally, the C 400 GT maxi-scooter is available in three colours – Alpine White, Kallisto Grey Metallic, and Style Triple Black. We could see all those options in the Indian market too. Similar to the international market, the Kallisto Grey Metallic and Style Triple Black could be available at a premium over the base Alpine White colour option. The premium colour options also get a GT decal on the side panel.

Features

The feature list on the maxi-scooter includes full-LED lighting, keyless operation, under-seat storage lights, and a USB charging socket in the front right storage compartment. The stock vehicle comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster while a full-colour TFT-display is available as an optional extra. The safety net on the BMW C 400 GT includes dual-channel ABS and Automatic Stability Control.

Right Front Three Quarter

Hardware

The suspension setup on the maxi-scooter includes telescopic front forks and twin-sided rear springs. The anchoring tasks are handled by twin discs at the front and a single disc at the rear.
