BMW Motorrad India has opened bookings for the CE 02 electric scooter. The new urban two-wheeler is all set to go on sale sometime in the middle of September. It will be the second electric scooter from BMW to go on sale in India, following the CE 04 which is positioned at a much higher price of Rs 14.90 lakh.
The CE 02 is being made by TVS here in India. The CE 02 presents itself as a practical electric two-wheeler, evident in its design and features. There are barely any body panels to speak of. That not only serves an aesthetic purpose but a functional one as well.
Powering the scooter is an air-cooled synchronous motor. The scooter has a 2kWh battery and customers can choose a single or twin battery setup. With a single battery, the scooter has a range of 45km and is capable of hitting a top speed of 45kmph. The range doubles with the addition of the second battery and the range goes up to 95km.
In terms of features, the CE 03 has LED lights a 3.5-inch TFT display, USB-C charging and keyless ride.
BMW is expected to price the scooter around the Rs 5 lakh, ex-showroom mark.
