-Has a 15kW electric motor
-Hits a top speed of 120kmph
-Will be the most expensive electric scooter in the country
BMW Motorrad India has thrown open bookings for the CE 04 electric scooter. The CE 04 will be launched on the 24 July and will be the most expensive electric scooter in the country. Customers can visit their nearest BMW dealership to reserve their scooter.
The BMW CE 04 electric scooter looks unlike anything we’ve seen before. It has got an edgy design with sharp crease lines that abound. Elements like the floating seat, the layered side panels and the exposed monoshock catch your eye instantly. There is no question that the CE 04 will turn heads wherever it goes.
The scooter has a 15kW, permanent magnet, liquid-cooled synchronous electric motor that produces 41bhp and 61Nm. BMW says that the CE 04 can accelerate from 0-50kmph in 2.6s only and hit a top speed of 120kmph.
The battery capacity is 8.9kWh and BMW claims it can cover 130km in a single charge. As for the charging time, the standard charger takes a little over four hours to top up the battery. The optional fast charger, on the other hand, can charge the battery in an hour and forty minutes.
Under the bodywork, the CE 04 has a steel double loop frame, with a single-bridge telescopic fork at the front and a single sided swingarm with a directly hinged suspension strut at the rear. The scooter rides on 15-inch wheels while 265mm discs at both ends are what bring it to a stop. ABS is standard.
Safety aids include three ride modes- Eco, Rain and Road. Dynamic traction control and ABS pro are offered as optional extras.
We expect the CE 04 to priced higher than the BMW C 400 GT north of Rs 10 lakh.
