- BMW electric scooter spied testing
- Looks closely similar to the CE04 concept
- Gets a large 10.24-inch screen
Similar to almost every other manufacturer, BMW including electric vehicles in its portfolio is inevitable. And perhaps it won’t be long before we see the German brand revealing the production version of the Definition CE04 electric scooter that has recently been spotted testing on public roads. It was unveiled as a concept in November last year.
Surprisingly, the production model of the CE04 e-scooter looks closely similar to the concept, with its profoundly distinctive and futuristic design. There’s a large front apron with angular lines and deep creases with a V-shaped headlamp sitting at the centre. Under the seat, it has boxy panels hiding the battery pack and motor with nothing at the rear except for the wheel, covered by a slim tyre hugger that’s holding a license plate and turn indicators. Interestingly, the BMW e-scooter has a long wheelbase, it sits very low, and has a dual footrest provision, similar to the Suzuki Burgman Street 125.
In terms of modernity, it is likely to be years ahead of most ICE scooters we see pottering around today. Indicating that is a humungous 10.25-inch TFT instrument cluster that will definitely show a plethora of data and have connectivity options. And don’t be tricked by its sporty styling as BMW has clearly stated previously that it will be meant for urban commuting. That means the top speed won’t be astounding and the range won’t be phenomenal either. The charging setup will be lightning fast though.
It remains to be seen how long BMW takes to introduce the production model of the CE04 electric scooter and which markets it will be available in.
