The top-spec sportbike will be available in markets like the US and UK from December 1. The 2013 S1000RR HP4 superbike from BMW promises to be a better version of a motorcycle that has already been winning supersport comparisons and awards left, right and centre.
BMW has announced the price for the motorcycle. In all markets except the US, it will retail for GBP 16,700, or Rs 14.1 lakh before taxes and duties. That's for the 'standard' model, which itself costs Rs 2.57 lakh more than a standard S1000RR. The top-spec HP4 Carbon will cost GBP 19,350 or Rs 16.34 lakh before duties or taxes, which should more than double if put on sale in India. That's a staggering amount of money for a motorcycle, but when you consider that the HP4 makes 200bhp and weighs 169kg dry including the race ABS - not to mention the fact that it will be a limited-edition motorcycle - the pricing makes a little more sense.
