BMW Motorrad India has opened the pre-bookings for the K 1600 series in our market. The Indian arm of the Bavarian two-wheeler maker will offer three variants of the motorcycle in our market – K 1600 B, K 1600 GTL, and K 1600 Grand America. The K 1600 series will be launched in India in May 2022.
The pre-bookings for the motorcycle are open at BMW Motorrad dealerships across India from February 4, 2022 onwards. For ease of ownership, the company will offer customised financial solutions via BMW Financial Services India.
The mechanical specifications on all three variants include the same 1,649cc, six-cylinder engine. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor is tuned to deliver 158bhp of power at 6,750rpm and 180Nm of peak torque at 5,250rpm. The engine on the new models also benefits from two knock sensors and four lambda probes.
The motorcycles come standard with adaptive LED headlights and a 10.25-inch TFT instrument cluster with dual screens. The electronic rider aids, which work with a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU), includes traction control system, three riding modes (Dynamic, Rain, and Road), and two settings (Dynamic and Road) for its semi-active suspension.
The motorcycles also get s smartphone compartment with USB-C charging and four freely assignable favourite buttons as standard. The audio system 2.0 is standard on the K 1600 GTL and K 1600 Grand America variants while it is available as an option on the K 1600 B model.
