- Deliveries commence this month

BMW Motorrad India has introduced its K 1600 series of touring motorcycles in India. These include K 1600 B bagger and the more touring-focused K 1600 GTL and Grand America. The deliveries for these motorcycles have commenced this month for the customers who have already booked them. The model-wise ex-showroom prices of the bikes are mentioned below:
BMW K 1600 B: Rs 29,90,000
BMW K 1600 GTL: Rs 32,00,000
BMW K 1600 Grand America: Rs 33,00,000
All three motorcycles share the same hardware with subtle differences in terms of ergonomics and touring accessories. The bagger looks the most minimalistic with a shorter windscreen, a sharper design for panniers, and the lack of a top box at the rear. Meanwhile, the GTL and Grand America boast taller screen, top box, and a larger seat. Moreover, different colour options are what set them apart.
All of them share the same long list of features. Things which are uncommon amongst motorcycles include reversing aid, a smartphone tray, and an audio system with speakers for playing music. For making mile munching easier, BMW has included an adjustable windscreen, adjustable levers, heated grips and seat, cruise control, and a keyless ignition system, amongst others. Other electronic aids include traction control, multiple riding modes, and ABS.
Powering all K 1600 B, GTL and Grand America is a behemoth 1,649cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, six-cylinder engine that churns out 160bhp at 6,750rpm and 180Nm of torque at 5,250rpm. They ride on 17-inch cast aluminium wheels that are suspended by BMW’s Duolever and Paralever suspension setup. While the seat height is quite accessible at 750mm, the weight is on the heavier side at 344kg (for the bagger) and 367kg (for Grand America).
