BMW Motorrad India has teased the M 1000 XR once again, hinting at an imminent launch. The brand is yet to unveil the official debut date of the M 1000 XR but has already listed it on the official website.
BMW recently launched the M 1000 XR internationally, thereby revealing all the details about its most powerful crossover bike. The M 1000 XR is based on the S 1000 XR but gets a load of new features and mechanical tweaks. It comes draped in Light White and Blackstorm Metallic paint options. Then, there are loads of carbon-fibre parts near the fuel tank, side panels, and appendages.
Another highlight of the BMW M 1000 XR is its power figures. It uses a 999cc inline-four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 201bhp and 112Nm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox and gets a bi-directional quickshifter. Then, the bike receives a long list of electronic aids like riding modes (Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and Race Pro 1–3), pit lane limiter, launch control, dynamic traction control, wheelie control, ABS, slide control, dynamic brake control, shift assistant pro, and automatic hill start control. These can be controlled from the bike’s TFT screen, which is also smartphone-compatible.
The M 1000 XR also gets top-notch hardware like 45mm USD front forks and a monoshock, both fully adjustable. The braking hardware includes a twin 320mm front and single 265mm rear disc mounted on 17-inch forged wheels wrapped in 120/70 front and 200/55 rear tyres.
BMW has priced the M 1000 XR at USD 29,995 (approximately Rs. 24.96 lakh, sans taxes) but we think it would cost substantially more in India. For reference, the M 1000 RR is priced at around Rs. 49 lakh and the M 1000 XR, too, could cost the same.
