- BMW working on adjustable motorcycle seat
- Can be adjusted to fit larger rider
- Likely to debut in next generation R1250GS
BMW Motorrad is working on making a motorcycle seat that can be adjusted depending on rider’s comfort. This development was revealed through some patent drawings.
According to these leaked drawings, the German motorcycle brand has made a seat that can be adjusted sideways. For years, we have seen seats that can be adjusted for height. But this is the first time where the brand has made a seat that focuses more on the width of the seat.
This invention is primarily targeted at riders’ with larger structure. This seat is divided into three parts – the front part is locked to the back of the fuel tank and the other two parts can be moved individually to the outward direction. The rear parts can be adjusted individually and then locked once the right placement is selected.
This new invention is bound to make motorcycling a lot comfortable for many riders. We can expect BMW to introduce this product in the next generation R1250GS – their finest adventure touring motorcycle.
