- New R1300 GS teaser picture revealed
- Bike is likely to get bigger liquid-cooled engine
- Global debut on 28 September
BMW Motorrad has finally released a teaser picture of its most anticipated launch – the R1300 GS. This is the first time the brand has officially discussed this bike on social media.
In this teaser picture, the bike is ridden on water, and the splash has covered most of the motorcycle. But the image does leave us with some information. The spy shots of the bike showed that the new R1300 GS has lost a lot of visual mass, and it can be seen in the teaser picture as well. The motorcycle has become a lot more compact, along with the overall body proportions.
The new R1300 GS is rumoured to get liquid cooling and churn out more power and torque than the current model, but the exact increment in the numbers isn’t known yet. The current-gen iteration of the motorcycle produces 134.1bhp and 143Nm of peak torque.
The new R1300 GS is built around cast aluminium and the same materials have been used on the swingarm, sub-frame, and other components. This could have been done to reduce the overall weight and make the bike more nimble. This new BMW will also likely get the latest features like blind-spot detection, cornering lights, and radar-based cruise control expected to be a part of the package.
The new BMW R1300 GS will be revealed on 28 September, and the sales will likely start soon after. The Indian market will get the bike late this year or early 2024, and when that happens, expect the bike to be pricier than the current model.
