- Bounce Infinity to be launched on 2 December
- To get a removable battery pack
- Deliveries to commence next year
Bounce will launch its first electric scooter, the Infinity in the Indian market tomorrow. The bookings for the new electric scooter will start soon after launch while the deliveries would commence next year. The reservations for the Infinity electric scooter are open for Rs 499.
This new electric scooter will come with a removable Li-ion battery that can be swapped through the Bounce network. The electric two-wheeler maker will offer the Infinity scooter with the ‘Battery as a service’ option. Through the option, buyers can purchase the Bounce Infinity electric scooter without the battery, thus reducing the price of the vehicle. The owner can use Bounce’s battery swapping network to get a battery pack. Customers pay for the battery swaps whenever they exchange an empty battery with a fully-charged unit.
Bounce has partnered with Readassist, Helloworld, Kitchens@, and Goodbox to expand its battery swapping infrastructure to 900 new locations across 10 cities. The company has also joined hands with Park+ to set up over 3,500 battery swapping stations. Bounce aims to set up battery swapping stations within one kilometre of wherever its customers are and also build a robust swapping infrastructure over the next 24 months.
Bounce will manufacture the new Infinity electric scooter at its facility in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. This facility has a manufacturing capacity of 1,80,000 scooters per year. The company plans to expand the production capacity by setting up another plant in southern India.
