- To be called Brabus 1300 R
- Based on KTM 1290 Super Duke R
- To be unveiled tomorrow
Brabus and KTM will unveil the 2022 Brabus 1300 R tomorrow. Based on the KTM 1290 Super Duke R, the new Brabus 1300 R will feature a heavily revised design over the standard motorcycle. KTM has also released teaser video, giving a brief glimpse at the headlight of the Brabus 1300 R. However, a technical glitch seems to have revealed the motorcycle on the company’s official website.
The motorcycle, as seen in the leaked image, features a round LED headlight with integrated DRL at the front. The entire assembly is wrapped in a stylish cowl that enhances the aesthetics of the motorcycle. Other styling elements include bar-end mounted rear-view mirrors, air-scoops on the fuel tank, a rider-only saddle, a rear cowl, and a side-slung exhaust. The feature list should be similar to the standard KTM 1290 Super Duke R. Thus, the new Brabus 1300 R should come equipped with full-LED lighting and a digital instrument cluster.
Apart from styling upgrades, Brabus may also tweak the powertrain for enhanced performance. The details about those are not available yet. For reference, the standard KTM 1290 Super Duke R uses a 1,301cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 180bhp of power and 140Nm of peak torque.
The 1290 Super Duke R Evo variant gets electronically-adjustable suspension setup. We may see similar hardware on the Brabus 1300 R. The braking task, similar to the stock 1290 Super Duke R, may include Brembo-sourced hardware.
