Brembo has introduced a product line, Brembo Beyond which comprises the brand’s first-ever eco-friendly brake pads. The Greenance Concept kit is developed to “improve the driving dynamics of a new mobility generation geared towards sustainability.”
Brembo claims that the new eco-friendly brake pads would last three times more and reduce the environmental pollution caused by PM10 and 2.5 (particulate matter). Further, these pads also offer 10 percent more bite as they offer better heat resistance. The latter produces more consistent performance during hard braking and eliminates brake fade.
By eliminating some components like cobalt and nickel, the pads are more environmentally friendly and even the manufacturing process now demands 60 percent less energy. Overall, the Greenance Concept is a mix of green and performance.
The launch timeline for Brembo’s Greenance line is slated around the second quarter of 2023. The launch is likely to be carried out in a phased manner and Brembo will likely offer these pads for both bikes and cars. However, the models are yet to be specified.
