- Brixton Storr 500 to go into production soon
- European launch expected this year
- Powered by a 486cc, parallel-twin motor
Brixton Motorcycles showcased the Storr 500 adventure tourer concept at EICMA 2022. Although the motorcycle was set to go on sale in Europe and other markets in 2023, a few issues with its distributor put the launch plans on the backburner. That said, the Brixton Storr 500 is finally set to go into production soon and a European launch is on the cards. But, there’s a catch.
Like many European-Chinese collaborations, Brixton Motorcycles are designed in Europe and manufactured in China by Gaokin Moto. The Brixton Storr 500’s Chinese version has already undergone production at the Goakin factory and is already on sale in China. The former is set to follow soon.
The Storr 500 has a unique design language that seems inspired by the Husqvarna Norden 900. Closer to home, its styling looks starkly similar to the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, but with fancier body panels. Distinctive design elements include the large fuel tank and the fairing panel that connects the tank with the headlamp.
Under the bodywork, the Brixton Storr 500 is underpinned by a tubular steel frame and a separate sub-frame. Upside-down front forks and a linked monoshock at the back suspend it. It rides on 19/17-inch tubeless wire-spoke wheels, wrapped on knobby Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres.
Powering the Storr 500 is a 486cc, parallel-twin motor that is one of the many clones of Honda’s 471cc engine. The liquid-cooled mill produces 47bhp at 8,500rpm and 43Nm of peak torque at 6,700rpm. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
Although it is too early to talk about the Storr 500 making it to the Indian shores, Brixton Motorcycles has announced its plans to launch four bikes in India in the months to come. While Brixton is yet to announce which motorcycles it will launch in India, the Storr 500 will make for an interesting rival to the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the KTM 390 Adventure.
