Brixton Motorcycles recently launched four new neo-retro motorcycles in India in the 500cc and 1200cc range. However, the Brixton Storr 500 adventure tourer was conspicuous by its absence. That said, we have learned through our sources that the Storr 500 will be launched in India ‘very soon’.
Brixton is likely to launch Storr 500 in the first half of 2025. The reason for the delay could be the fact that Brixton is yet to launch the bike in Europe, the motorcycle’s primary market. Brixton recently showcased the production-ready version of the Storr 500 at EICMA 2024.
The Storr 500 features a unique styling, which seems to have taken inspiration from the likes of the Husqvarna Norden 900 and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. Distinctive design elements include a large fuel tank and a large fairing that connects the fuel tank with the headlamp assembly.
Powering the Storr 500 is a 486cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor that produces 47bhp at 8,500rpm and 43Nm of peak torque at 6,700rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The Brixton Storr 500 is underpinned by a tubular steel frame, suspended by upside-down front forks and a linked rear monoshock. It rides on 19/17-inch tubeless spoke wheels, wrapped on knobby Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres.
We recently tested the Brixton Crossfire 500XC, and its engine felt quite smooth and punchy with good tractability. If this is anything to go by, the Storr 500 could make for a good middleweight adventure tourer. The motorcycle will primarily compete against the Benelli TRK 502, but it could make for an interesting alternative to the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure R. We expect it to be priced at around Rs. 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
