- Buell Motorcycles revived
- Will start selling bikes soon
- Hero MotoCorp had invested in this company
The American motorcycle brand, Buell Motorcycles is back in business. The company had shut stop after the company went into liquidation in 2015.
Previously owned by Harley Davidson, this motorcycle brand is all about fast and premium superbikes. Harley-Davidson decided to sell Buell in 2009 after it decided to sell only cruisers. The founder relaunched the company as Erik Buell Racing –it’s the same company where Hero MotoCorp had invested some cash to help the Indian company develop products after Hero and Honda separated. But that plans didn’t materialize and the American brand ended up only making some concepts and designs that eventually killed the Karizma brand.
Liquid Asset Partners, the firm that bought the rights regained the rights to Buell Motorcycles and will use it to sell motorcycles like the 1190RX and the 1190SX. These bikes are powered by a big V-Twin motors and are known for its performance. Plus, the lightweight frame and cycle parts make these bikes still compete with some biggies.
The new company head claims that the brand will launch a total of 10 new motorcycles by 2024. They will also get into small and mid-displacement dual-sport, cruisers and dirt bikes segment and is also looking at a high-performance electric two-wheeler.
