California Superbike School has announced a riding camp exclusively for women in India. To be held over three days, the training will be conducted in two levels from 23 to 25 August 2019 at the MMRT (Madras Motor Race Track). With the aim to encourage more number of women riders to participate, CSS is offering 65 per cent discount over the standard fees. The lady participants will be charged Rs 25,000 for the riding camp, which is Rs 70,000 otherwise.
The initiative of a riding camp exclusively for women has been coined by Ms Nawaz Bathena Sanshu of FMSCI (Federation of Motor Sports Club of India). Nawaz is an Indian racer and rally rider alongside being the representative of FIA’s Women Motorsport Commission, which promotes the participation of women bikers in racing. Looking at the growing interest for racing and riding amongst women, this session will be focused on imbibing the necessary skills in lady riders for making them ‘safer, smoother and faster’ around a race track and on the road.
The California Superbike School was founded in 1980 by a highly acclaimed riding instructor – Keith Code. The organisation has trained various racers of MotoGP and WSBK (World Superbike Championship) such as Wayne Rainey, James Toseland, Thomas Luthi and Joe Roberts of Moto 2 racing championships.
