CF Moto 650GT – What to expect

CF Moto will launch three 650cc motorcycles in India this month. The line-up consists of the 650NK, 650MT and, the 650GT. While we have already reported what to expect from the 650NK naked streetbike and the 650MT touring model, let’s take a glimpse at the anticipated specifications and features of the 650GT sports tourer.

Design and Features

CF Moto has given the 650GT a bold styling with a split headlamp setup, a tall windscreen and a large fairing which blends with a chiseled fuel tank. The motorcycle gets a combination of single-unit handlebar, split seat and centre-set footpegs which should make for comfortable yet mildly aggressive ergonomics. CF Moto also offers a sizeable set of optional panniers which add to its touring intent.

The 650GT comes equipped with a five-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster which gets two themes to choose from and self-adjusting backlighting. The split headlamps get LED lighting which are accompanied by L-shaped LED DRLs. Subsequently, the tail lamp also houses LED lights.

Engine

Propelling the 650GT is a 649.3cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor which sends power to the rear wheel via a chain drive and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. This engine belts out 60bhp of power and 56Nm of peak torque.

Cycle Parts

The CF Moto 650GT rides on 17-inch wheels which are suspended on 38mm KYB telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is taken care of by a pair of discs with J Juan dual-piston calipers up front and a disc with a single-piston caliper at the rear. The braking hardware is assisted by a dual-channel ABS setup.

Pricing

CF Moto is likely to reveal the pricing of its motorcycles at the official launch this month. However, we expect the 650GT to cost around Rs 4.7 lakhs to Rs 5 lakhs (ex-showroom). Talking about its competition, the motorcycle will go up against the Honda CBR650R. Although the latter gets an inline four motor and is more expensive at Rs 7.70 lakhs (ex-showroom), both the bikes fall in the category of sports tourers.
