CFMoto has updated its Indian product portfolio with the launch of the BS6-compliant 650MT tourer at Rs 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest iteration of the motorcycle retains the design from the BS4 model, although it gets mechanical upgrades to comply with the newer, more stringent emission norms. Here we bring you the top-five highlights of the CFMoto 650MT BS6.
Engine
The CFMoto 650MT retains the 649.3cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the BS6-compliant motor produces 55.65bhp of maximum power at 8,250rpm and 54.4Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. In comparison, the BS4 model was tuned to produce 60bhp and 56Nm. The maximum speed of the BS6 model is rated at 170kmph.
Design
The changes to the BS6-compliant model are limited to mechanical upgrades. Thus, the 650MT retains the styling cues from the BS4 model. The motorcycle continues to feature a vertically-stacked twin-pod headlight setup, a tall windscreen, semi-fairing design, upright ergonomics, a step-up saddle, five-spoke split-style alloy wheels, and a compact exhaust cannister. The motorcycle comes with a comprehensive crash guard protection at the front and saddle stays at the back. The CFMoto 650MT features an 18-litre fuel tank and tips the weighing scale at 218kg (kerb).
Colours
The motorcycle will be available in two colours – Matte Titanium Gray with Nebula Black and Athens Blue with Nebula Black. Both colour options feature identical decals that are visible on the fairing.
Features
The feature list on the CFMoto 650MT BS6 comprises full-LED lighting and a digital instrument cluster. Bluetooth connectivity is not available on the motorcycle. The electronics package is basic, and the safety net is provided by a dual-channel ABS.
Hardware
Similar to the design, the hardware, too, remains similar to the BS4 version. Thus, the suspension tasks are handled by upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock. The front forks are adjustable for damping. The braking setup includes twin, petal-type rotors at the front and a single, petal-type disc at the rear. The 17-inch alloy wheels on the 650MT are wrapped in Metzeler-sourced tyres.
