- CFMoto 800MT unveiled
- Is powered by KTM 790 ADV engine
- Only available in China for now
Chinese manufacturer, CFMoto has launched the 800MT in its home country at the 2021 Shanghai Motor Show.
As expected, the CFMoto 800MT uses a slightly detuned version of the KTM 790 Adventure’s 799cc, parallel-twin engine that churns out 94bhp and 77.2Nm. Along with the engine, the 800MT also derives the engine maps, cruise control, throttle-by-wire, traction control, and cornering ABS from the KTM- and here is where the similarities end. Now, the CFMoto 800MT sports a conventional fuel tank unlike the KTM’s low-slung tanks. The seat is also traditional compared to the KTM 790 Adventure’s enduro-inspired unit. Moreover, the 800MT also gets heated grips and seat as well as a navigation system on the seven-inch display.
CFMoto is offering the 800MT in two versions- touring and off-road. While both have a 19/17 inch wheel combo, the touring version gets cast aluminum alloys whereas the off-road variant gets spoke wheels that are wrapped around knobby tyres. Nevertheless, both versions of the 800MT come with KYB suspension at both ends and J.Juan braking hardware. Now, the CFMoto 800MT is available only in China however, we can expect it to be sold in international countries by the end of 2021.
