- Showcased at last year’s EICMA as a concept model
- More hardcore version of 800MT models
- To be powered by the same engine as the KTM 790 Adventure
CFMoto might globally unveil a new adventure motorcycle soon. It showcased the MT-X ADV concept at last year’s EICMA show and now, as per leaked documents, its production version is on its way to international markets.
The motorcycle is expected to be called the 800MT-X and it will be a more hardcore version of the existing 800MT models. As per the leaked documents, it will be powered by a 799cc, LC8c engine that does duty on KTM’s 790 and Husqvarna’s 801 machines. At 95bhp, the peak power output will also be the same as its Austrian and Swedish cousins. Plus, the 800MT-X seems to be using the same chassis and fuel tank design as the KTMs and Huskies which means it should have a low centre of gravity, thereby delivering good low-speed balance.
With a 21-18-inch spoke wheel combination, the upcoming 800MT-X will be a more adventure-centric offering than its standard 800MT siblings that use 19-17-inch wheels. The suspension setup might have long travel to aid its off-road capabilities and is expected to be sourced from KYB. Also, in terms of dimensions, including wheelbase, height, and length, the motorcycle is more in line with the higher-spec KTM 890 Adventure R variant than its standard counterpart.
CFMoto seems to be prepping multiple variants of the 800MT-X differing in terms of luggage options, accessories, and styling elements. Now, with the type approval documents of the bike surfacing on the internet, the CFMoto 800MT-X should make its official debut in the international markets soon.
