- Based on the KTM 790 Adventure
- Available in two variants
- CFMoto is sole distributor for KTM in China
The CFMoto MT800, which is based on the KTM 790 Adventure, has entered production in China in the second quarter of 2021 (April-June). The production was previously scheduled to commence in October 2020, although it seems that the Coronavirus Pandemic has caused changes to the plans.
The CFMoto MT800 will be manufactured at the same plant where KTM will produce the 790 Duke and the 790 Adventure in China. CFMoto is the sole distributor for KTM in the Chinese market.
The motorcycle has been launched in the Chinese market. It is powered by a detuned version of KTM 790 Adventure’s 799cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor. The electronic rider aids on CFMoto 800MT include throttle-by-wire, selectable riding modes, cruise control, traction control, and cornering ABS.
Styling cues are different from the KTM 790 Adventure, and the Chinese adventure tourer uses an aggressive front fascia that includes an LED headlight, a beak style design, and a tall windscreen. The motorcycle also boasts a big fuel tank, split-style seats, and a tall-set exhaust. The CFMoto MT800 is available in two variants – road-biased and off-road focussed. The road version uses alloy wheels while the off-road variant is equipped with wire-spoke wheels. Both use a 19-inch front/17-inch rear wheel setup.
