Chinese motorcycle manufacturer, CFMoto, has launched the new Ibex 450 in the US market. The motorcycle is a direct rival to the highly popular Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. It will be available in two colour options – Tundra Grey and Zephyr Blue with prices starting from USD 6,499 (approximately Rs. 5.39 lakh). It will hit the showroom floors in the US soon.
The Ibex 450 comes across as a potent adventure motorcycle on paper. It is powered by a 449cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crank. It produces close to 45bhp at 8,500rpm and 44Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm. With a dry weight of 175kg, it should be a fun and easy-to-manage motorcycle. Even the hardware package is properly adventure-ready. It rides on a 21-18-inch spoke wheel combination with KYB suspension that boasts 200mm of travel and full adjustability. Braking is handled by J. Juan Calipers with a 320mm disc.
The Ibex 450 is impressive in terms of design and features as well. It has a tall and imposing stance with a high-set headlamp assembly coupled with a beak-like front fender. The boxy side panels blend neatly with the large 17.5-litre fuel tank which further joins the exposed sub-frame. On the feature front, there’s a curved five-inch TFT colour screen with Bluetooth connectivity, a full-LED lighting system, and Bosch’s dual-channel ABS which can be switched for the rear wheel.
The CFMoto Ibex 450 is unlikely to come to the Indian shores anytime soon as the company has not been operational in our country for a while. But we never know what the future holds.
