- Assembly operations begins
- Acefit, Misft will be sold in India
- Sales will begin from October
Last month we told you that the Cleveland Cyclewerks’ official sales operations will begin from October. Now, we have pictures from the company’s new Pune plant where the assembly of bikes has begun.
Initially, the company will sell two motorcycles, the Ace and the Misfit. Both the bikes were unveiled at the 2018 Expo. The Ace is an old-school streetbike with a traditional teardrop fuel tank and minimalistic styling. At its heart is a 229.5cc single-cylinder engine, producing 15.4bhp and 16Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed transmission. There are three variants of the Ace - standard, Ace Cafe and the Ace Scrambler.
The Misfit Gen II, on the other hand, is a sportier offering. The engine is a 223cc unit, which delivers 16.1bhp and 18Nm of torque. It gets a café racer styling thanks to the sculpted fuel tank, low clip-on handlebars and an aggressive riding position.
Majority of the parts for these bikes comes from China and then the bikes are assembled in India. The company is expecting volumes from these bikes. So we’re expecting a competitive price tag. Unfortunately, there’s no news on its dealership expansion plans
