Cleveland Cyclewerks showcased its range at the 2018 Auto Expo. Now finally, the company through its social media accounts have announced its India sales operations will begin from October this year.
The US-based manufacturer who has forayed into India through its partner Laish-Madison Motorwerks will initially sell two motorcycles, Ace and the Misfit. Both the bikes were unveiled at the 2018 Expo. The Ace is an old-school streetbike with a traditional teardrop fuel tank and minimalistic styling. At its heart is a 229.5cc single-cylinder engine, producing 15.4bhp and 16Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed transmission. There are three variants of the Ace - standard, Ace Cafe and the Ace Scrambler.
The Misfit Gen II on the other hand, is a sportier offering. The engine is a 223cc unit, which delivers 16.1bhp and 18Nm of torque. It gets a café racer styling thanks to the sculpted fuel tank, low clip-on handlebars and an aggressive riding position.
The initial lot of these bikes will come from China via completely-knocked-down(CKD) route. The company will manufacture its bikes at its plant in Pune soon after. In terms of pricing, both the bikes are expected to be competitively priced that will help the company sell in volumes.
