The Dakar Rally 2021 concluded on the shores of the Red Sea. Monster Energy Honda Team 2021 secured the top two positions in the final rankings. Kevin Benavides took the first spot, finishing the challenging rally in 47 hours, 18 minutes and 14 seconds. His teammate, Ricky Brabec finished a close second with the final timing of 47 hours, 23 minutes and 10 seconds; just four minutes and 56 seconds behind Benavides. Red Bull KTM Factory Team’s Sam Sunderland came third with his final time 15 minutes and 57 seconds behind the leader.
Sherco Factory’s Lorenzo Santolino stood on the sixth spot in the overall rankings while his teammates Rui Goncalves and Harith Noah secured the 19th and 20th positions, respectively. Hero MotoSports delivered their best-ever Dakar standings. Hero Motosports Team Rally’s Joaquim Rodrigues and Sebastian Bühler came 11th and 14th respectively. The third rider, CS Santosh had to retire from the rally in Stage Four after suffering a crash.
Stage 12 Recap
The final stage of the Dakar Rally 2021 saw Brabec and Benavides take the first and the second position, respectively. Red Bull KTM Factory Team’s Matthias Walkner came third in the final stage. Hero MotoSports secured yet another top-10 finish with Rodrigues and Bühler in eighth and tenth spots, respectively. Santolino, Goncalves, and Noah came 6th, 13th, and 19th, respectively.
