The Stage 12 of the Dakar Rally 2023 ended with Ignacio Jose Cornejo of the Monster Energy Honda Team taking the top step at the podium. Daniel Sanders finished the stage in the second position, just 49 seconds behind the leader. Meanwhile, Toby Price of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing took the final step of the podium.
Hero Motosports, the motorsport team of Hero MotoCorp, continued to show promising performance at the ongoing Dakar Rally 2023. The team has clinched two positions yet again in the top 10 stage rankings of the challenging rally. Sebastian Buhler finished in the 8th position for the second consecutive stage. Meanwhile, his teammate Ross Branch completed the stage in the 10th position.
Marking the end of the two-day marathon stage, the riders travelled over 375km through the Empty Quarter or Rub’ Al Khali, the largest continuous sand desert in the world. Up next, the riders will move on from the Empty Quarter and the race will move northward to Al Hofuf – a 673km route, of which 153km will be timed, and the rest will be a 520km-long road section.
