The seventh stage of the rally was cancelled due to heavy rains and floods. The recently concluded Stage 8 was an 824km long ride from Al Duwadimi to Riyadh, of which 346km formed the special section. Aligning with the ad-hoc marathon stage, the competitors spent the night before Stage 8 at the Al Duwadimi bivouac, while the service crews camped 500km away in Riyadh.

Up next, Stage 9 will be a 686km route eastward to Haradh, taking the riders through some wadis and canyons.
