- Second win for Hero MotoSports in Dakar Rally 2023
- Adrien Van Beveren of the Monster Energy Honda Team finished second
- Michael Docherty of the HT Rally Raid Husqvarna Racing team came third
Hero MotoSports, the motorsport team of Hero MotoCorp, has taken its second victory at the ongoing 2023 Dakar Rally. Ross Branch took the top step of the podium, finishing the stage in one hour and 44 minutes. This is the third-ever win for the team in the challenging race since it started racing seven years ago.
Meanwhile, Adrien Van Beveren of the Monster Energy Honda Team and Michael Docherty of the HT Rally Raid Husqvarna Racing team completed the podium in the second and third positions, respectively.
Leaving the bivouac at Haradh, Stage 10 of the rally took the riders towards Shaybah, marking its entry into the Empty Quarter. The 624km route was mostly liaisons, with the special section accounting for only 114km. It was deliberately kept short to reduce the risks in this difficult terrain that was constituted mainly by sand dunes.
Up next, Stage 11 of the Dakar Rally 2023 will move deeper into Rub’ Al Khali, or the Empty Quarter, with a Marathon Stage. The first part of the marathon in Stage 11 is a 428km trip from Shaybah, ending at the Marathon bivouac. Do note that there will be no assistance trucks or mechanics to help the riders at the bivouac.
