The 919km long Stage 6 of the Dakar Rally 2023 recently concluded with the Husqvarna Factory Racing team taking the top two spots on the podium. Luciano Benavides and Skyler Howes finished the race in the first and second positions, respectively. Further, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team’s Toby Price completed the podium.
Meanwhile, the Sherco Factory team’s Lorenzo Santolino secured the 13th position in this stage. Hero MotoSports Team Rally’s Franco Caimi and Sebastian Buhler took the 15th and 16th spots, respectively.
The route for this stage was shifted due to flooding from the incessant rains, and it reached the bivouac in Riyadh, instead of Al Duwadimi.
Next, Stage 7 has been revised by the organisers and it will now go in a reverse route from Riyadh to Al Duwadhimi, featuring a special section of 333km, totalling 528km, including the road sections. Replicating a mini-marathon stage, competitors will be allowed service crew assistance at a Service Parc towards the end of the stage for only two hours. The competitors will move on to the bivouac in Al Duwadimi, whereas the service crew will return to Riyadh.
