After having a good year, DSK Hyosung is aiming to double its overall motorcycle sales. The company sold 1,851 motorcycles last year and plans to sell around 3,000 units this year.
In order to achieve this, the company is focusing on Gujarat. The state’s upcoming three months of festive season would boost motorcycle sales for the company. DSK Hyosung plans to sell 100 units in Gujarat in the next three months. In order to achieve the target, DSK Hyosung, which currently has two showrooms in the state, each, at Surat and Ahmedabad will set up extension centres in four cities to reach out to a maximum number of customers in other parts of the state.
The last launch of the company was the Hyosung Aquila 250 at the 2014 Auto Expo. The company hasn’t disclosed the exact sales numbers but mentioned it being a successful product. In order to penetrate deeper into the ever growing two-wheeler market, DSK Hyosung will foray into the 125cc and 150cc segment. These motorcycles will be manufactured at the company’s proposed plant at Karad in Maharashtra.
“Gujarat is a rich state and we see increasing interest for superbikes among young customers. We have planned to open four extension centres across the state each at Rajkot, Vadodara, Navsari and Bharuch,” said Shivapada Ray, COO, DSK Hyosung.
