DSK Hyosung sold 375 units of the new GT 250 R and Aquila 250 in the July-August period this year. The company claims to have achieved a year-on-year growth of over 100 per cent in sales of motorcycles from the 250cc segment in the same period.
The company has not given out individual sales numbers of their products but considers the new GT 250 R and Aquila 250 to be the best-sellers from the DSK Hyosung portfolio. The company plans to bank upon the upcoming festive season to achieve good sales and is focusing on extending its network all over India. The company had planned to open four extension centres across Gujarat at Rajkot, Vadodara, Navsari and Bharuch.
DSK Hyosung had announced earlier that they are aiming to double its overall motorcycle sales this year. The company sold 1,851 motorcycles last year and plans to sell around 3,000 units this year. The manufacturer will also foray into the 125cc and 150cc segment in order to penetrate deeper into the ever growing two-wheeler market. The new motorcycles are expected to be manufactured at the company’s proposed plant at Karad in Maharashtra.
