DSK Motowheels has launched a limited edition of its quarter litre sports bike, the GT250 R, at an event held in Pune, for Rs 2.97 lakh (ex-showroom Pune). This limited edition was launched to celebrate the first anniversary of the Hy Ryders club and only 50 units of the motorcycle will be produced.
The limited GT250R gets cosmetic changes with a new shade called Hurricane Yellow and some decals. There are no mechanical changes and the motorcycle continues to be powered by a 249cc oil-cooled V-Twin engine that churns out 27.6bhp at 10,000 rpm and 22.07Nm of peak torque at 8,000rpm. This engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The limited edition bike is being made available only in the all the four metros and Pune City.
Currently the company sells the bike in three colour combinations - white-red, red-black, silver-red. With the addition of this new limited colour, the bike’s colour line-up looks very attractive and offers a wide range of choice for its customers. Launching limited edition models in India is not new. It is either done to celebrate some accomplishments or sometimes just to clear the inventory. But at the end it’s the Indian consumers who will benefit the most from such launches.
Commenting on the launch, Shirish Kulkarni, chairman DSK Motorwheels, said "Driven by popular demand from our discerning customers, we decided to introduce this signature edition of the GT250 R. What better way to introduce this faired beast that the first anniversary of our exclusive superbike club, the HyRyders."
