DSK-Hyosung has launched the Aquila GV 650 Pro for Rs 4.99 lakh and 2013 GT650R for Rs 4.79 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The bikes were unveiled by Shirish Kulkarni, MD of DSK Hyosung in the presence of Jimmy Park and Jason, MD and manager of S&T Motors. This is the first launch of the year for the Korean bike manufacturer and both models will go on sale across all 21 dealerships of DSK Hyosung.
The Aquila GV 650 Pro is the second cruiser motorcycle from DSK-Hyosung after the ST7 and will be positioned below the latter. This cruiser bike is powered by a 650cc V-Twin liquid cooled engine which produces a peak power of 72bhp and 60Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and power is transmitted to the wheel by a belt drive.
The 2013 GT650R has got mostly cosmetic upgrades only. Changes include a revised front faring and minor alterations to the side as well the cowl. Mechanical changes include an upgraded headlamp and revisions to the suspension setup. It is powered by the same engine as the outgoing model – a 647cc V-Twin water cooled engine, which produces 72.68bhp at 9000rpm and 60Nm of torque at 9000rpm.
Hyosung also has plans to eventually launch the GV250 cruiser and by 2014, enter the commuter segment with a 150cc motorcycle designed specifically for India. Both the motorcycle will be brought to in India as CKD (complete knocked down) units and will be assembled at the company’s Wai facility in Maharashtra.
