Ducati has officially unveiled the 1299 Panigale and the 1299 Panigale S at the EICMA Show in Milan, Italy. With these two new motorcycles, the Italian manufacturer is now one of the very few two-wheeler manufacturers who have 200bhp+ production motorcycles in their line-up. While the 1299 Panigale is similar to the 1199 Panigale in many ways, it has been fitted with a rebored version of the 1199 Panigale’s engine, which now displaces 1285cc. This engine now produces 205hp and 145Nm of torque through a six-speed gearbox. A new steering head angle and 4mm lower fork pivot is expected to make the 1299 Panigale more agile than the 1199. Both the motorcycles come with a new Special R colour scheme with black wheel rims, though the 1299 Panigale S gets unique forged alloy three-spoke wheels.
