- Ducati working on 450cc enduro motorcycle
- Global debut in 2027
- Unlikely to come to India
Ducati has confirmed that it is working on a new range of enduro bikes. These road-legal bikes are likely to make its debut in 2027.
Currently, the company is focusing on competing in the 450cc motocross class. Earlier this year, it unveiled the Desmo450X –a new motocross bike that will compete in the Italian Motocross championship. The Italian brand wants to use this championship as a platform to gather all the data from the bike to further improve the motorcycle for the world championship.
According to a report, Ducati is also developing a 250cc motocross platform, which is likely to make its debut in a year or two. Post this, the 450cc enduro bike will be launched. The company is expected to use the Desmo450X motocross bike for its enduro platform.
While Enduro bikes can do a really good amount of off-road, the bikes come with road-legal cycle parts like headlights, turn indicators and number plates. The engine will be reworked and the gear ratios will be different as well. Even the suspension tuning will be changed to suit road riding.
Ducati is quite serious about its off-road intentions. Interestingly, it has taken the middle-weight bike approach for this and in a few years, we’ll know if it is paying off well or not.
