- To be equipped with the same V4 motor as the Multistrada
- Gets design changes over the current model
- Could be introduced in the upcoming World Premiere series
Ducati is all set to introduce seven new motorcycles in the World Premiere Series this year. And we think one of them could be the Diavel V4 since its test mule has been spotted.
The spy shots reveal that the Ducati Diavel V4 will get a revised fascia (similar LED headlight as the new Monster) while retaining the same butch design. The front turn indicators are mounted on the handlebar assembly and the side panels also seemed to be redesigned. The quad exhaust setup is one of the most evident changes on the Diavel V4.
The 1262cc, Testastretta DVT V-twin will be replaced with a V4 Granturismo engine that powers the Multistrada V4. In its current setup, the motor dishes out 170bhp and 125Nm. It’s mated to a six-speed gearbox. Furthermore, the Diavel V4 test mule is equipped with USD forks and a monoshock. The setup appears similar to the current model but the single-sided swingarm seems to be tweaked. Even the braking hardware is unlikely to be altered.
A closer look at the test mule also shows the Diavel V4 embroidered in the seat. The folded footpegs for the pillion and the rear tyre hugger on the test mule appear similar to the ones used on the current model. The wheel design looks similar but not identical.
With all the aforementioned tweaks, we expect Ducati to price the Diavel V4 slightly higher than the current Diavel which retails at Rs 20.4 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The test mule appears ready for production and could be launched soon after its debut in the World Premiere Series.
