- Ducati Desert X revealed
- Gets 21-inch, 18-inch spoke wheels combination
- India launch next year
Ducati has finally pulled the wraps off their most anticipated motorcycle – the Desert X. This adventure motorcycle has taken inspiration from their Paris-Dakar days.
The Desert X will sit below the brand’s Multistrada range, but will be a proper enduro ather than an adventure sports. The company says that the brand has worked on a lot of aspects to make the Desert X friendly on the road as well as off the road.
The Desert X is built around a brand new steel trellis chassis that houses the updated 937cc 110bhp motor. The same motor makes 92Nm of peak torque at 6500rpm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The Italian brand has reworked the engine to make it lighter and more efficient.
This Ducati is equipped with Kayaba 46mm upside-down forks at the front and a single fully-adjustable at the rear. Due to its enduro positioning, the bike gets 21-inch spoke wheel at the front and 18-inch at the rear.
The Desert X gets six riding modes out of which two have been specially developed for off-road use. Other than this, there’s plenty of electronics aids on the motorcycle. There’s multiple traction control system, cornering ABS, wheelie control, quickshifter and cruise control. Ducati has equipped the motorcycle with LED lights that does make the motorcycle look more enticing. The TFT screen on the Desert X are positioned vertically to make it more reader friendly.
The Desert X will be launched in India sometime next year and expect it to be priced at Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
