Ducati has updated its product portfolio with the launch of the BS6-compliant Multistrada 950 S in the Indian market. The latest iteration of the ADV-sports tourer is priced at Rs 15.49 lakh. Here we list the top five highlights of the motorcycle.
Design
The Multistrada 950 combines the Multistrada 1260 and the Multistrada 1260 Enduro’s design features. The Multistrada 1260 inspired elements include the twin-pod LED headlights, beak design, an adjustable windscreen, side wings, and the fuel tank. The saddle, rear grab rail, design of the exhaust, swingarm and the wheel sizes, on the other hand, are influenced by the Multistrada 1260 Enduro. In India, the Multistrada 950 S is available in the Ducati Red colour option. The white paint option will be available in 2021.
Hardware
The Multistrada 950 S is built around a tubular steel Trellis frame that is linked to a double-sided aluminium swingarm. The motorcycle rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. The suspension setup, which comprises of upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock, comes with a 170mm of travel that is aimed to deliver a comfortable ride quality. The anchoring tasks are handled by twin discs at the front and a single rotor at the back – both grabbed by Brembo-sourced callipers.
Features
The “S” badge brings electronics such as Bosch Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Vehicle Hold Control (VHC), and the semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS). The motorcycle also benefits from Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS), Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL), and a Cruise Control system. Moreover, the Multistrada 950 S can now mount the Ducati Multimedia System (DMS) and also features a full-LED headlight, five-inch colour TFT display, a Hands-Free system, and backlit switchgear controls.
Engine
The Multistrada 950 S is powered by a 937cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, Testastretta 11-degree engine that produces 111.4bhp at 9,000rpm and 96Nm of torque at 7,750rpm. The motor boasts of maintenance intervals of 15,000km, with valve clearance inspection at every 30,000km.
Price
The new Ducati Multistrada 950 S BS6 is priced at Rs 15.49 lakh. In comparison, the BS4 model, which was sold in standard form, was available at Rs 12.84 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
