Ducati India will update its portfolio with the launch of the new Multistrada V2 in our market. This motorcycle, which will replace the Multistrada 950, will rival the likes of the Triumph Tiger 900 series in the Indian market. Here we tell you what to expect from the India-bound Ducati Multistrada V2 adventure tourer.
Styling
The Multistrada V2 is quite similar to its predecessor. Thus, the motorcycle features a twin-pod headlight, an adjustable windscreen, a semi-fairing design, split-style seats, and a side-slung exhaust. Internationally, the Multistrada V2 is available in two variants – standard and S, and the more premium version gets additional features. Both variants are available in Ducati Red colour. In fact, the S variant is also available in the Street Grey paint option, wherein it gets red colour for the alloy wheels.
Features
Similar to the design, the feature list, too, is similar to the Multistrada 950. Thus, the Multistrada V2 packs full-LED lighting, a five-inch colour-TFT display, cornering ABS, traction control system, vehicle hold control, and four riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, and Enduro). The S variant, as mentioned above, packs additional features over the standard model. These include Ducati Skyhook Suspension EVO semi-active suspension system, a cruise control system, Ducati Cornering Lights, and Ducati Quick Shift Up & Down.
Engine and Performance
The engine displacement on the new Ducati Multistrada V2 is identical to the outgoing version. However, the 937cc Testastretta, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine on the Multistrada V2 makes a slightly higher torque output. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor is tuned to produce 111.5bhp of power and 96Nm of peak torque (vs. 94Nm). Ducati has also managed to reduce its weight by five kilograms. The oil change and valve clearance intervals are scheduled for every 15,000km and 30,000km, respectively.
Hardware
Both variants of the Multistrada V2 family feature a fully-adjustable suspension setup on both ends. The S variant, however, benefits from Ducati Skyhook Suspension EVO semi-active suspension system. This allows the rider to adjust the suspension setting directly via the switchgear and eliminates the need for special tools. The anchoring hardware on both variants includes twin 320mm rotors with Brembo monobloc callipers at the front and a single 265mm disc with Brembo calliper at the back. Similar to the outgoing version, this Multistrada, too, rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels.
Expected Price
Internationally, the motorcycle is available in two variants. However, the Indian market may get the top model, the Multistrada V2 S. It should arrive in a similar price range as its predecessor. Thus, we expect the motorcycle to carry an ex-showroom (India) price tag in the range of Rs 16 lakh - Rs 17 lakh.
