- Pre-bookings open at dealership level
- Launch likely to happen next month
- No announcement from Ducati India yet
Select Ducati dealers in India have started to accept the pre-bookings for the company’s flagship adventure tourer, the Multistrada V4 and the Multistrada V4 S. Do note that the pre-bookings have opened at the dealer level, and Ducati India has not made any announcement yet. As per the dealer sources, the new Multistrada V4 and the Multistrada V4 S are likely to arrive next month. Once launched, the motorcycles will rival the likes of BMW R 1250 GS and the Kawasaki Versys 1000 in the Indian market.
Internationally, the motorcycle is available in three variants – V4, V4 S, and the V4 S Sport. The company will soon introduce the Pikes Peak variant of the motorcycle that will benefit from 17-inch wheels on both ends, a single-sided swingarm, and an Akrapovic exhaust system. The unveiling details for the Pikes Peak edition are unavailable at the moment.
The India-bound Multistrada V4 and the Multistrada V4 S will use a new 1,158cc, 90-degree V-layout, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that will produce 168bhp of power at 10,000rpm and 125Nm of peak torque at 8,750rpm. The motor will be linked to a six-speed transmission. The oil change interval is scheduled every 15,000km, while a valve clearance check and eventual adjustment are required every 60,000km.
