- Gets sleeker LED headlights and new LED DRLs
- Features a bright red sub-frame
- Scheduled to debut in 2021
Ducati had confirmed in September last year that it is working on a V4 engine powered Multistrada motorcycle. The Italian two-wheeler brand is currently testing the motorcycle, and a pre-production unit of the upcoming model was photographed during its test runs. The new set of spy images give a clearer look at the design of the upcoming new Multistrada V4.
In terms of styling, the new Ducati Multistrada V4 will retain the design silhouette of the existing Multistrada 1260. Thus, the new sports/adventure tourer will come equipped with a twin-pod headlight, a tall windscreen and upright ergonomics. The new headlight setup, as seen in the spy images, will be noticeably sleeker than the units on the Multistrada 1260. Moreover, the twin-pod LED headlight will be accompanied by new LED DRLs.
The test mule also reveals a slightly tweaked design for the fairing and a bright red sub-frame on the motorcycle. Other equipment on the Multistrada V4 test mule includes upside-down front forks, off-set rear mono-shock, twin-disc brakes on the front wheel and a single rotor at the back and full-LED lighting. The upcoming motorcycle should also feature a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster and the pinch-and-slide windscreen mechanism.
The motorcycle is equipped with testing equipment. A few manufacturers are working on their respective radar-assisted cruise control systems and we would not be surprised if Ducati integrates that feature (at least as an option, if not standard) on the upcoming Multistrada V4.
In terms of mechanical specifications, the new Multistrada V4 should use a Panigale V4 derived motor. The Panigale V4 and the Streetfighter V4 use a 1103cc, Desmosedici Stradale, 90-degree V4 engine. The motor produces 214bhp and 208bhp on the Panigale V4 and the Streetfighter V4 respectively. While the power and torque numbers for the Multistrada V4 are yet to be revealed, a 180-200bhp of output on the upcoming tourer will not be surprising.
The new Ducati Multistrada V4, as confirmed by the Italian two-wheeler brand, is scheduled to debut in 2021.
