Ducati Panigale V2 India launch: What to expect?

Ducati India has confirmed via its social media channels that it will update its portfolio with the launch of the new Panigale V2. The new version of Ducati’s middleweight model replaces the Panigale 959. Here we tell you what to expect from the new Panigale V2.

Design and Features

The new Panigale V2 is built around a die-cast aluminium monocoque frame that uses the engine as a stressed member. The motorcycle draws styling inspiration from the company’s flagship superbike, the Panigale V4. The middleweight Panigale comes equipped with twin-pod LED headlight with LED DRLs, an LED taillight, full-fairing design, clip-on-style handlebar, split-seats and a single-sided swingarm. The cockpit includes a 4.3-inch colour TFT display with Ducati Multimedia System. The Bluetooth-enabled system gives access to incoming calls, select and listen to music or receive text messages.

Engine

The new middleweight product from the Italian manufacturer gets a Euro5-compliant 955cc, 90-degree, V-twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is tuned to produce 152.8bhp of power at 10,750rpm and 104Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. The six-speed gearbox gets the Ducati Quick Shift bi-directional EVO 2 system.

Electronics

The electronics, based on a six-axis inertial platform, comprise of cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control and three riding modes (Race, Sports and Road). All three riding modes are customisable as per the rider’s preference.

Cycle Parts

The new Panigale V2 comes equipped with 43 mm Showa Big Piston Fork at the front and a Sachs mono-shock at the back – both fully adjustable. The motorcycle also features a Sachs steering damper. The anchoring power comes from twin, 320mm discs at the front with M4.32 Brembo monobloc callipers and a single 245mm disc at the rear with a single Brembo calliper. The five-spoke alloy wheels are wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II tyres.

Price

The new Panigale V2 should carry a price premium over the Panigale 959, and we expect the new bike to arrive in the Rs 15 lakh- 15.5 lakh (ex-showroom) range.
