Ducati India has confirmed through its social media handles that the BS6-compliant Panigale V4 will arrive in our market very soon. While the company did not reveal a launch date, we expect the updated motorcycle to arrive in the coming days. While we await a launch announcement, here we tell you what to expect from the upcoming Ducati Panigale V4 BS6.
Design
Internationally, the Panigale V4 is available in four variants – Standard, S, R, and SP. The Indian market will get the Panigale V4 standard and the Panigale V4 S variants. The styling cues are similar to the discontinued version, although the latest iteration of the Italian superbike benefits from an aerodynamic package. The aerodynamic winglets are claimed to deliver 30kg of downforce at 270kmph. The styling cues include a twin-pod headlight, full-fairing design, a rider-only saddle, underbelly exhaust setup, and a single-sided swingarm.
Features
The standard electronic rider aids on the motorcycle include Bosch cornering ABS, wheelie control, traction control system, launch control, slide control, and engine brake control. The feature list also includes LED headlights and a five-inch fully-digital colour display.
Engine
Mechanical specifications on both variants include a 1,103cc, Desmosedici Stradale 90-degree V4, liquid-cooled engine that produces 208bhp of maximum power at 13,000rpm and 124Nm of peak torque at 10,000rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox that benefits from a slipper clutch mechanism and the Ducati Quick Shift bidirectional quickshifter. The valve clearance inspection and adjustment interval stands at 24,000km while the general service interval comes every 12,000km/12 months.
Hardware
The two variants are distinguished through their respective hardware. The standard model, for example, gets manually-adjustable Showa front forks and Sachs rear mono-shock. The S variant, on the other hand, benefits from electronically-adjustable shock absorbers from Ohlins. The braking setup on both variants includes twin 330mm discs with Brembo Monobloc Stylema (M4.30) four-piston callipers at the front and a single 245mm rotor with two-piston callipers at the front.
Expected Price
The BS6-compliant models are likely to carry a price premium over their respective predecessors. We expect the upcoming range to be available from Rs 21-22 lakh (ex-showroom, India) onwards.
