- Ducati may be working on a new 450cc engine
- Planning to enter motocross debut
- Could debut at MXGP
Ducati may be working on a new 450cc engine. This new engine is rumoured to go on a motocross motorcycle that could debut later this year.
According to a report, the Italian brand is looking to enter the world of motocross and a 450cc prototype is being readied for the same. This new 450cc engine will power a motocross motorcycle that is likely to participate in the world motocross championship. As of now, details are quite scarce on this project, but Ducati is looking at creating a new racing alliance for the MXGP project.
The US is the second biggest market for Ducati after its home country, so it makes perfect sense to enter the world of motocross where US domination is quite high. Plus, Ducati won’t be the only motorcycle brand to enter the motocross world in recent times. Triumph is also working on having its presence felt in this segment and has been working on quite a bit.
We are quite excited to see what Ducati comes up with because this could also mean that the brand is open to the idea of bringing in lower-displacement motorcycles.
