Erik Buell Racing has announced that the 2014 EBR 1190RX will be made available at 60 dealerships around US. The bike was unveiled last October at the American International Motorcycle Expo in Orlando. With prices starting at USD 18,995 (Rs 11.8 lakh), the bike is all set to be launched next month.
“It was clear from the day we launched the 1190RX and the overall EBR brand that excitement was high in dealerships across the country for the new products,” said Erik Buell, the founder of the company. “Our team put into place an extensive dealership application process to ensure every customer who has interest in EBR products works with only the best power-sports dealers and can build a lifetime relationship,” he added.
The 1190RX is based on Erik Buell Racing’s race-bred, limited edition EBR 1190RS. It is powered by a 1190cc water-cooled V-Twin engine which produces an impressive 185bhp and 138Nm of torque. It will be available in three colour schemes; Strike Yellow, Racing Red and Galactic Black.
Homologation regulations of World Superbike require every manufacturer to build at least 1,000 units of the bike from which the 2014 WSBK model is derived. With a cooperation agreement with Hero MotoCorp, EBR is the only American motorcycle manufacturer to compete in the 2014 World Superbike Championship. Called Team Hero EBR, the team’s bikes would be ridden by racers Geoff May and Aaron Yates.
