MV Agusta has updated their line-up with the 2018 Dragster 800 RR. The bike gets cosmetic as well as mechanical upgrades.
The Dragster 800 RR is a more performance-focused version of the Brutale 800 sold in India. The bike now looks more aggressive than the outgoing model thanks to its sharper tank side panels, and its newly-designed trademark triple exhausts. The rear section is also colour co-ordinated with the bodywork.
It also gets a LED headlamp unit, LED turn indicators integrated into the new number plate holder and a single-piece LED tail lamp that replaces the earlier twin tail lamp unit. The bike also sports pillion foot-pegs that get concealed in a bracket when folded. The 2018 MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR also recieves an aluminium treatment. The bike gets aluminium side brackets on the front mudguard, aluminium tank pad and aluminium shield on the exhausts.
The bike’s Euro 4 compliant 798cc in-line three cylinder engine produces 140bhp at 13,000rpm and 86Nm of torque at 10,100rpm and is now mounted on new points to improve the frame’s torsional rigidity. This unit gets revised intake cams and redesigned engine casing along with a new gearbox that is said to offer smoother and quicker shifts. The Dragster 800 RR’s eight-stage traction control and ride-by-wire throttle system is also said to be more refined on the 2018 model.
The bike is offered in two colour schemes- white with red highlights and grey with yellow highlights. However, it is unlikely that MV Agusta will bring the bike to India anytime soon.
