Coimbatore-based startup, eMotion Motors have unveiled their first electric offering called the Surge.
The electric motorcycle sports an aggressive, streetfighter design language with sharp lines all over. It gets LED lighting for the headlamp along with small fly screen on the headlamp cowl. The Surge sports a long tank and seat along with low set handlebars for a sporty riding position. The rear section is raised and houses the grab rail as a one-piece unit along with the LED tail lamp.
The eMotion Surge uses a 40Ah Lithium-ion battery pack and the motor produces 28Nm of torque. The unit is mated to a four-speed, semi-automatic gearbox with a final chain drive. It gets a top-speed of 120kmph and a 0-60kmph time of less than 4 seconds. eMotion claims a range of 100kms on a single full charge that can be achieved within 30 minutes thanks to the express charging feature. The manufacturer is also offering an extra battery pack that increases the range to 200kms.
It rides on inverted front forks and a reverse-mounted monoshock at the rear. While it gets a small petal disc up front, a smaller conventional disc takes care of braking for the rear. Like most electric vehicles, the eMotion Surge is equipped with a list of features like- reverse mode, 7-inch LED screen, smartphone and cloud connectivity, on-board navigation, keyless start, solar battery charging and an SOS feature.
Currently there is no confirmed timeline for the launch of the eMotion Surge. However, the manufacturer will reveal more information about the bike in the next few weeks.
