Energica unveils a new electric adventure bike!

-         Energica unveils new electric adventure bike

-         Called Experia

-         Riding range of whopping 420kms

Energica – the famous electric bike company from Italy has pulled the wraps off its first adventure bike – the Experia. This new motorcycle is being positioned as an adventure-touring electric motorcycle.

One of the main highlights of the Experia is its riding range in a single charge. The figure is being claimed at 420kms which is quite good. The company has been able to deliver this range by tuning down its electric motor for performance. The power figure for this electric ADV stands at 101bhp and torque at 115Nm which is comparatively lesser than its streetfighter and roadster cousins.

According to Energica, the battery capacity is rated at 22.5kWh and the charging time is 40 minutes for an 80% per cent charge. The charging time is reduced if charged via a 24kW DC fast charger used. There are other charging options as well, which will increase the overall time.

In terms of features, the Experia is equipped with four riding modes – eco, rain, urban and sport. There’s a six-level traction control system available along with cruise control and a TFT display. There are heated grips as standard, but they will be available as an option when the mass market model goes on sale. The regenerative braking comes as standard. There are four modes here – high, medium, low and off.

Energica motorcycles have always been on the expensive side. So it was obvious to see this ADV with a hefty price tag of Rs 20 lakh. This EV won’t come to India due to its price tag and also due to its product positioning.
